Course Description
Learn Indian Classical Music This introductory course offers a gateway into the world of Indian Classical music with an accessible and singable approach. It is the first in a series of four courses tailored to introduce students to Carnatic music. The lessons are crafted to spark students' curiosity and encourage self-discovery. Foundational concepts like Shruti (pitch) and Laya (rhythm) are seamlessly integrated into simple poetry and rhythm, making learning both enjoyable and engaging. This course is designed to provide a solid foundation in voice culture, listening skills, and basic singing notes. It covers rhythm concepts and exercises, correlating Swaras to sound at a fundamental level, and includes Swara/Raga-based songs that student will enjoy singing. Objectives of this course: 1. The course aims to introduce students to the world of swaras using familiar tunes and songs. 2. It helps learners understand that music is simple and easy to learn. 3. Students learn to sing simple shlokas, bhajans, and songs with swaras. 4. Students are introduced to the concepts of Shruti and thala. Topics Covered; * Bhajans * Slokas * Rhymes to swaras * Claps to thala And Outcome: The student can replicate a tune by listening. The student cultivates a sense of rhythm and demonstrates it. The student performs the Ganesh Bhajan and Shlokas in tune, with accurate rhythm and proper diction.
